postpartum prep care

May 6, 2020 By //  by Lisa 2 Comments

Are you tired of all the research involved in planning for postpartum and a new baby?

I was too. I often felt fatigued and overwhelmed, especially in my third trimester when all I wanted to do was enjoy my biological nesting instinct and relax before baby arrived.

I felt bombarded with information and mildly obsessed with cross-referencing data. This was augmented by the fact that I wanted to focus on natural, non-toxic options, and a holistic approach which took even more research.

So, this is why I took 100+ hours of research and consolidated it into the 60+ page eBook that I wish I had when preparing for the arrival of my little one.

The eBook is divided into 8 easy to reference sections which include:

  • Baby Registry – Advice on creating a registry and an intentional list of essential products. Most baby products are coated with chemicals that can easily be absorbed by baby’s sensitive skin. The registry section includes a list of non-toxic companies for each item.
  • Creating Your Nest – Advice on setting up your home, including a list of non-toxic products to support you and baby (with several things you have probably never thought about but can make all the difference).
  • Baby Essentials – A comprehensive list of indispensable items to care for baby’s daily needs. All the stuff you need and nothing more.
  • Caring for Your Body – This important topic is often overlooked. There are many supportive balms, sprays, and herbal tinctures that can help support recovery after birth, however most of them are full of chemicals. Here you will find a list of natural alternatives for each of these products, as well as helpful items for breastfeeding, high quality baby formula recommendations, and information on placenta encapsulation.
  • Stocking Your Freezer & Pantry – A full freezer is a wonderful gift to give yourself in preparing for the first 6 weeks postpartum. You will find holistic recommendations based on ancestral wisdom and traditions. Includes recipes for preparing for postpartum with nutrient-dense options that will support you in the first 40 days and information on supportive supplements.
  • Creating an Herbal Apothecary – Herbal medicine ideas and recipes for supporting your body in recovering from birth and where to source the herbs.
  • Mindfulness & Mantras – Supportive words to lift, nourish, and guide you on transitioning from maiden to mother.
  • Books, Blogs, Podcasts – It’s incredibly helpful to know where to go when you have a question or concern. Here you will find a thorough list of resources from the holistic health community broken up into three sections – Pregnancy/Postpartum/Birth, Newborn Care, and Postpartum Support for Mama.

It was important to me to make this affordable which is why the eBook is priced at $39. Also included with purchase is a 10% off a comprehensive nutrition consultation if you need one-on-one support, and access to a private facebook group for continued support.

This thorough guide will save you TIME, ENERGY, and EFFORT so you can enjoy all the tender moments of pregnancy and the early days with baby.

About Lisa Russell, FNTP

Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Lay Ordained Zen Buddhist, New Mama

Earlier this year, I gave birth to a sweet and spirited baby boy (he’s doing happy baby pose in the photo, see him? :). After he was born, I completed my First 40-Day protocol at home. This 40-day period, which I talk about in more detail in this guide, allowed me to enter a deep transformational space, filled with gratitude, overwhelm, love, and many sleep-deprived moments! In this space, I also reflected on, and was grateful for, all of the planning I did to support myself in the tender postpartum period.

I knew I wanted to find a way to share this information with other mamas and mamas-to-be. I’m happy to be able to offer this guide to others and hope it will also support you on your beautiful journey.

“I have relied on Lisa’s intuitive and informed input for years now — starting before pregnancy, through a healthy 9 months, and into the challenging transition to motherhood (first timer over here!).

As a professional researcher, the last thing I wanted to do outside of work was to spend hours down various baby rabbit holes. This book literally eliminates the need for that. What an amazing resource… This covers everything, and because she spent hundreds of hours researching, it’s like a compilation of “the best of” on the most important topics to a new mom. I only wish I could have read it sooner! I’ll be waiting patiently in hopes of version 2 to help guide me through the toddler years.” – Kimberly
